This
is a first ever hybrid bred here,my Butter Jungles have been produced
by crossing a Butter Cornsnake Elaphe guttta guttata to
an Albino Ruthvens Kingsnake Lampropeltis ruthveni. We
then bred the babies back to one another to produce the first ever
butter jungle, ruthens king x butter cornsnake.
Butter Jungles have caramel and yellow markings on a cream background,
the patterning is also edged in lilac. They have pink eyes. A truly
unusual coloured hybrid.
This
unusual patterned hatchling Butter Jungle is
difficult to describe, it's pattern is like that
of a Motley, but we are unsure whether our original
Butter Cornsnake used to make his
hybrid was carrying this gene, further
breeding will help to determine whether this
is indeed
genetic..
Other Hatchlings from this clutch also display
some abnomalies in their patterning, the hatchlings
to the top right and left
show some signs of zigzagging
Whereas
the Butter Jungle to the right has varying degrees
of striping along it's back, no two hatchlings from this
clutch were the same in there patternation, but
all had the same georgeous caramel orange pattern
colour surrounded by the lilac on a cream background.
